Step 1: Setup Wireshark for Packet Capture
Installed Wireshark on the lab machine and configured the capture interface to monitor traffic on the local network. Verified that promiscuous mode was enabled and confirmed packet flow against test pings from a neighboring host.
- Installed Wireshark 4.2 on Ubuntu workstation
- Configured capture filter: tcp port 80 or tcp port 443
- Validated capture by initiating sample HTTP requests
